Some of the beaches on the Conero Riviera are ideal for wind surfing. The more expert surfers surf towards Portonovo where there are often scirocco/ostro winds and where there is a windsurf centre next to the La Capannina. The San Michele beach at Sirolo offers the same surfing conditions in more wild and untamed surroundings. Numana is ideal for beginners and those looking for their first surfing experience because on this area of the coast the maestral wind is not as strong!

Thanks to new materials the introduction to wind surfing is no longer as physically and mentally difficult as is used to be. Factors that often stopped people from continuing in this sport. The surf boards and equipment have become extremely light and easy to handle so now everybody can have a go at this “game-sport” without problems. The basic course consists of seven lessons of one hour, a simulator is used for practise on land whilst the lessons in the water are followed by our instructors (F.I.V). The groups are made up of 1-4 pupils and at the end of the course participants are able to surf in safety, in non extreme sea and wind conditions. Naturally each participant is provided with wet suit, life jackets and sail. For those who wish to improve their technique there are more advanced lessons, that take place when there is more wind, to teach the gybe, the use of the trapeze, and take off in the water, etc.....
