La Vela Beach, South of Portonovo
The beach get its name from the rock in the shape of a sail ( vela) that lies opposite the beach. This is the last beach, to the north of the Conero, where it is possible to swim. The splendid Roman Abbey “ Santa Maria di Portonovo”, built by the Benedictines in 1034 is behind the beach.

How to get there by car along the Conero provincial road in the direction of Portonovo, take the road that runs along the side of the mountain. Car parking is limited. When the area is closed to traffic there is a shuttle bus that goes to and from the beach.
